The Web-site contains several overhead links that allow users to find various details about ASAP, Our Equipment, Some of the Manufacturer’s we carry and more… The Web-Site will be undergoing a re-design construction beggining June 21st.

The Current problem with our web-site is it’s out-dated, so new modules have been added such as the Used Equipment Database at www.asaprent.com/hotlist/but haven’t been able to be properly incorporated into the Online Web-Site due to previous creator’s in-ability to DESIGN a web-site.

 However, the new look as of 2008 that I added with the rotating front page image and the “Right Side Bar, Extra’s” navigational area is what the new web-site will be focusing on. There’s Videos, Ad’s, Equipment Searches, and will be direct ways to purchase equipment you find directly and securely over the web-site. The right side navigation was “forced into” the site’s small space and is not easily navigated. Our New Web-Site Design will consider the User Friendliness Factor as well as new features that allow you to see our Shop as if you were here, Over the Internet 1,000 miles away.

From Bada-Bing to Cha-Ching – An Italian Success Story

A Salute to My Father and the Owner of ASAP Equipment Rental & Sales – A Legacy of Hope and Triumph

I wonder why I don’t’ Speak with an Italian accent like the Sopranos do. Where’s my Capo and when do we salute’? Why aren’t I dabbling in the Mafia or “La Mala Vita”? Italians aren’t always how they are portrait on TV and Movies. Italian Immigrants had and still have very Humble Beginnings. From the very first day when the first boat of Italian Immigrants landed ashore USA soil to the day we defeated all the prejudice we’ve remained proud to be an American from Italy, but mostly just proud to be American.

We came to find peace and the equal pursuit of happiness and they truly believed that America could allow them to reach their full potential whereas their own countries deprived them of their potential. They didn’t come to America with their hands out and they were certainly not criminals, most of them anyways. The Italian Immigrants as well as the irish and the other immigrants were treated by the the Americans whites, at the time, like a totally different Species of being.

Some of the most Respected Scholars, Doctors, and mostly every other American were saying that the Italian’s were a lustful and stupid people. The shape of their heads were often concaved and their eyebrows were caveman like with mouths that hung open at all times, an incredibly stupid being. Americans often saw us as outcasts and trash, and wanted to get rid of us. Slowly, the more ambitious Italians left the Italian and Irish Immigrant Slums and integrated themselves in with the Americans and richies.  We dipped our hands into America’s Melting Pot for our Dreams – Some pulled out more then we could have ever asked for and for others less than what they expected or worse.

Some even extended Italy’s Criminal Ring or Black Hand (Mafia) to the American Country. I’m not saying these Italians were any different than any other wop. It’s the environment the Italians and Irish grew up in, the people, places and things you encounter growing up as a child. Living under the Brooklyn Bridge, Foul Odors fogged the streets where the Irish and the Italian’s often had altercations between each other’s and became rivals. The Italian’s you See Today; Most are Rich, Beautiful, Incredibly Intelligent human beings that have helped America throughout its history.

We all have a chance to live the American dream. My Father is an honest working man who worked for 25 years doing odd jobs – loading creates into trucks, breaking his back to make some bread crumbs and pay the bills. Until he and his grandfather opened up a Equipment Rental Store called Taylor Rental, from here they established a safety net. They learned a trade, mastered it, and evolved. Finally, My Grandfather retired and is living happily taking trips to Italy every other week My Father had to make a decision to feed his family and his dreams were and still are to this day very large. He dreamed up his own Construction Equipment Company that would treat customers like a real Italian treats his wife (That is a joke) – that would grow to be 100 times larger than his grandfathers.

The dream turned into a reality when My Father and his Brother teamed up and formed ASAP Equipment Rental & Sales Based in Sarasota, FL. It’s now one of the Largest Independent Equipment Dealerships in Florida and my father couldn’t be humbler – With over 20 Major Manufacturers onboard, he still wakes up every day at 4am ties his boots and drives an hour to HIS own Store, and works till 6pm, just to make some bread crumbs and pay the bills, Just Like In Italy, because Italians came here for a reason. To fulfill their dreams and provide a stable income to feed theri family and to stamp a spot of ground in the American soil for the next generation to tread with pride as a American. This man is my hero, and I’m currently working at his company, it’s been 5 years now and I hope to one day take over the company and continue the legacy of the Castoro Family Coming to America from their humble beginnings in Bari, Italy (Castoro Street is up in Bari, Italy now). I cannot let this legacy Die; I WILL not let this legacy Die. Peace and Love to ALL Ethnicities, Races, and Religions.

From February 16th until May 6th, 2009   World Renound Industrial Equipment Auctioneers Ritchie Bro’s are hosting THE Largest Industrial Equipment Auction Event in the World, and it all begins right here in our back yard – Orlando, FL.

From February 16^th to February 21^st, Monday-Friday at 8am the Auction will take place in Orlando on the Corner of I-4, & US Hwy 27 (700 Ritchie Road), Right near our ASAP Equipment Rental & Sales Branch located off of McIntosh Rd and I-4 in Orlando.

In honor of the Ritchie Bros astounding record of World’s Largest Auction, ASAP Equipment decided to give all the registrants of the 2009 Ritchie Bros Auction that flew in or drove to town a few days early the chance to enjoy some Pre-Ritchie Bros Auction Events at the ASAP Equipment Rental & Sales GIANT Pre-Auction Event, Held on February 11^th – 13^th. This took place only minutes away from the Major Auction Yards. The Other Day Somebody Asked me on the phone:

 “Can you please give me some info on the ASV RC-100 Skid Steer? Also,
how does it match up with the competitors?”

 

Well, You Asked for it. ASV’s Patented “Track System” or Undercarriage was designed with the help of snow mobile and track developing experts Polaris Inc. To go even further, the ASV Undercarriage that was developed was so innovative and smooth that Caterpillar made a Deal with ASV so that they could get that undercarriage in their Skid Steer Machines, What a Hoot!

 

The RC-100 is ASV’s largest and most powerful Tracked Skid Steer boasting a 99.9hp Perkins TurboCharged Diesel Engine with its powerful Hydraulic Arm’s easily lifting 3,800lbs of raw material 125 inches into the Sky. It comes in two Flavors – Regular and Forestry Edition. Both come with top notch equipment standard and a whole variety of other Optional do-dads including but not limited to: Enclosed Cab, A/C, Windows, Pedal Throttle, and Radio – Country Anybody? And many more. The Forestry Edition was created to be more like a Tank than the Regular Model. The RC-100 Forestry is a Machine that is built to do construction in heavily wooded and dangerous environments where branches and trees could easily impale and incapacitate the armor and/or driver the Regular RC-100. Recently to celebrate ASV’s 25 Anniversary of business, developing and producing Skid Steer’s, they’ve decided to fade out the RC Series of Skid Steers in favor of the New and Improved PT Series. You might be saying “Oh no, the RC Series was so great, what is ASV going to do without their ASV RC Series Skid Steers, They’ll never make it in TODAYS ECONOMY” Don’t get your panties in a bunch just yet. All the same models exist in the newer PT Series (PT-100, PT-80, PT-60, etc, etc) , but they’ve been upgraded, updated and up-… well that’s all I’ve got. Most of the changes are subtle, but others not so much. The most visible update to the new PT Series is their new paint and decal package that displays ASV’s bold new logo and paint scheme. This new Paint Scheme is suppose to reflect the company’s unmatched dedication to rubber track technology, I Say it just looks neat. Beyond the cosmetics lies what truly matters in the Construction Equipment World, Equipment!

 

All ASV PT Series Compact Track Loaders, except the PT-30, now include a new rugged steel engine hood and new idler wheel bearings with more durable metal face seals. MINI-EXCAVATORS

 

 

 

Mini Excavators may be small in size, but they are big on performance. Most machines in the Mini line start at as small as 15 horsepower and 3,600 pounds and move up to approximately a 17,000 pound machine with over 15’ of digging depth.  Most of the machines are equipped with rubber tracks that prevent damage when using on sidewalks and driveway, but also can be ordered with the steel track version. Advantages of this class machine include affordability, ease of use, and most come equipped with a small dozer blade for back filling trenches.

 

Another advantage of the mini excavator is that they can be transported with a standard pick up truck and trailer, eliminating the need for the user to purchase a heavy duty truck for transport. Another desirable feature is that many machines in this class are available with “zero turn radius”, so that when the operator is working in a confined space, he will have less chance to damaging buildings as he rotates the cab. SKID LOADERS

Probably one of the most vertitle pieces of equipment you can own. These little power houses can do a multitude of jobs including moving dirt, trenching, applying silt fence, tilling, use of a breaker hammer, tree shear, and may other applications.

Skid steer machines come in two basic variates: Wheeled and Tracked, each have their advanatges and disadvantages. Wheeled machines have higher ground speeds and less maintence. Tracked machines feature lower ground pressure and better traction on sandy or wet surfaces.
